Being a wedding photographer in Dayton, Ohio is an amazing thing. You see, being based in Dayton, I'm close enough to photograph weddings in Cincinnati, Columbus, and the surrounding areas, without ever really going too far from home. And, such is the case for Trevin + Estefany, whose wedding was in Farmersville, which is a quick 30 minute drive. It's the ability to be able to travel to many different destinations for weddings in a short amount of time that really makes my job a blast!
One of the beautiful parts of any wedding day is the getting ready portion of the day, where you can really see a bride and groom interact with their family and friends. It was a joy to watch Estefany's mother help her into her dress and veil, and then to witness Trevin's father help him with the details of his attire. It's the sweet exchanges of the day --the gestures, the interactions, the quiet glances -- that truly make wedding photography such a wonderful story to stitch together each weekend.
Trevin + Estefany's wedding was an intimate affair, encompassing the closest of their family. As they said their vows on the back porch of Trevin's parents' home, I was struck by how sweet, simple, and absolutely perfect their wedding was. The rain held off just long enough to allow Estefany to have the outdoor wedding she'd dreamed of, and almost right after the wedding, the rain came in full force!
But rather than allow it to deter from their wedding reception, they enjoyed it! Surrounded by all their family and friends at the reception, the dance floor was filled with salsa music, dancing, and traditions from the Dominican Republic, which is where Estefany's family is from. It was a pleasure to see the life and joy of both families, and the merging of their two lives come together so beautifully.
Congratulations, Trevin + Estefany! Your wedding was beautiful, and I thank you for allowing me to be your photographer!
