Sherri + Matt | Cincinnati Wedding Photographer

What do you get when you have a 150 year old house as your backdrop, 4 adorable pups as your bridal party, and 2 amazing human beings tying the knot? You have the makings of an absolutely INCREDIBLE wedding, that's what! Matt and Sherri are two of the most rad people I've had the honor to meet and hang out with, and their wedding day was anything but ordinary. You see, Sherri is an incredibly talented wedding photographer herself, so I knew going in that she would make the day anything but status quo. And, with a first look in an abandoned building, their ceremony in their home they're currently renovating in the Dayton Street Historic District of Cincinnati, and a desire to set me loose in any way I saw fit, it was truly a day of firsts and fantastic moments.

Opting to have the wedding in their stunning home they're currently renovating, Matt + Sherri chose to create a warm environment in their stunning 3 story house that has a rich history, with William Henry Harrison being the executor of the will and first homeowner! With Matt getting ready at their home, Sherri chose to get ready at Hotel Covington just on the other side of the Ohio River. With Cinci Makeup and Eros Salon prepping Sherri, she was absolutely stunning when she donned her beautiful BERTA wedding gown, and as we headed to see Matt for the first time, excitement and emotions were high. And, with the first look in a gorgeous abandoned school not far from their home, it was one of the most unique first look locations I've photographed!

But...not only was the first look location unique. Matt and Sherri had one of the best first looks ever, taking it a step further and making a first "crash into each other," ha! And with that as their first moments together, it was evident the rest of the day was going to be amazing.

And amazing it was! From a heartfelt, intimate, sitting-turned-standing room ceremony (they have SO MANY friends, and it's amazing!) with amazing florals by Marti Heard, tears of joy, and let's not forget the bacon bar, every moment of the evening was tailored to be a night no one would forget. With no lead up to the party getting started, we rolled from the ceremony to a quick few portraits, and then it was ON! The home turned from an intimate ceremony affair to a rocking house party with ease, and it was one of the best parties I've ever witnessed!

Matt + Sherri, thank you SO MUCH for allowing me to capture your day for you! It was an absolute honor, and I can't wait to see the photos from your honeymoon in Egypt!

Unique wedding photos are many times hard to come by, but one of my favorite things about being a Cincinnati wedding photographer is dreaming up new ways to create fun, fresh wedding photos that capture my couples’ personalities! Sherri is the fantastic photographer behind Sherri Barber Photography, and Matt is the mastermind behind Cincinnati Beerfest. When they asked me to be their Cincinnati wedding photographer, I was thrilled! Never being ones to follow trends, Matt and Sherri opted to do the most unique first look I have ever photographed in all of my weddings: a first “crash”! After having a heartfelt first look, they seized the opportunity to play with their surroundings, and hopped onto the abandoned gym’s ropes for a fun, playful photo op. I love when couples are game to be silly, and these two had a super fun time on their wedding day with their wedding photography!
Wedding days are so special, and being a Cincinnati wedding photographer is a wonderful opportunity. When couples incorporate their homes, pets, and stories into the day, it’s always extra special. Sherri and Matt recently purchased a home in Cincinnati, and when they decided to get married, they wanted to have their Cincinnati wedding in their home on the Historic Dayton Street. Matt, who is the mastermind behind Cincinnati Beerfest, opted to have a custom made suit for his wedding day from Romualdo Tuxedos in Cincinnati, and one of his beloved French Bulldogs was there to examine it as he prepared for his wedding day.
Cincinnati Beerfest mastermind Matt King made sure he would be the most dapper groom in all of Cincinnati on his wedding day with his custom wedding tuxedo from Romualdo Tuxedos in Cincinnati, Ohio! Opting for a stunning French cuffed dress shirt and a classic bowtie, Matt stepped his game up with a custom green suit from Romualdo that was made with all the trimmings that one would expect from the Cincinnati Beerfest King! His wedding style was timeless, with just the right splash of fun. Perfect way to style your Cincinnati wedding!
Creative wedding portraits are one of my favorite things to do for Cincinnati wedding photos, and when grooms are game to get creative, I love it! Matt was eager to show off his beautiful home on Historic Dayton Street in Cincinnati, Ohio, and we used creative gels and grids from MagMod on my Godox flashes to create a unique photo of him getting ready in the cellar of his historic home! Being a Cincinnati wedding photographer, I know how many options for Cincinnati wedding photographers there are. It is my job to create creative, unique wedding photos that my wedding couples will love for years to come, and using creative lighting and photography techniques allows me to deliver fresh and fun wedding photos to each of my wedding couples who have their weddings in Cincinnati!

Sherri Barber is a wedding photographer in Cincinnati, so being her Cincinnati wedding photographer on her personal wedding day was an honor! Sherri chose the Hotel Covington as the location for her wedding preparation, and Hotel Covington is one of the best hotels in Cincinnati for weddings! With its unique charm and beautiful decor, Hotel Covington provides weddings with a creative spark. Having a love for her dogs, Sherri brought her long-time furry best friend, Matilda, to the Hotel Covington to get ready with her on her wedding day. Capturing this sweet moment between a bride and her pup was special, and it was an honor to be Sherri’s Cincinnati wedding photographer choice.

Studio 22 Photography is a Cincinnati wedding photographer that specializes in creative wedding portraiture. Having the opportunity to photograph Sherri Barber of Sherri Barber Photography’s wedding was a pleasure, and getting to work alongside many of Cincinnati’s premier wedding vendors for Sherri’s wedding day was a treat. Sherri chose to wear a stunning wedding gown from the Berta collection, and Matt chose to have a custom made tuxedo from Romualdo Tuxedos of Cincinnati, Ohio. As a Cincinnati wedding photographer, I loved getting to photograph another Cincinnati wedding photographer’s wedding. Both Sherri and Matt looked stunning, and their wedding day was full of wedding day inspirations.
