Justin + Natalie | Dayton Wedding Photography

In the old adage, a photo is worth a thousand words. But in the instance of Justin + Natalie, I’m not sure even a thousand words can suffice the joy, love, and unbridled excitement of these two and their families as they said their vows in one of the most intimate, beautiful weddings I’ve had the privilege of documenting. From start to finish, their wedding was built upon a foundation of memories, homage to the family members who had come before them, and a joyous celebration of memories to be made in the future, as they began their own journey as a new family. It was truly an event that transcended a simple exchange of vows; it was a prayer, a promise, and a heartwarming affair that was an honor to be able to document.

Relationships are the bedrock of Natalie + Justin, and Natalie’s beautiful bond with her mother was signified by Natalie choosing to use her mother’s wedding dress as her own…with a few new twists to it. Using the lace from her mother’s dress to adorn her shoes, create bracelets for family members, as well as for the top of her dress, her something old, new, and borrowed were made into a beautiful trio in her gown. Using Justin’s grandmother’s heirloom brooch as a pendant on her bouquet, her something blue was also a nod to the family coming together, and a wonderful inclusion of her new family on such a wonderful day.

Beyond the “things,” however, the joy between the family was tangible, and it was impossible not to smile as her family and friends peeked through the windows of Natalie’s parents’ home, where the wedding was held, to sneak a view of Justin + Natalie’s amazingly beautiful first look. Justin’s joy overflowed as he saw just how stunning Natalie was on their wedding day, and it was an honor to be able to document such real, raw emotion. They both wore their excitement and emotions on their sleeve, and it was absolutely wonderful to be able to document their joy for them. Their family was a pleasure to interact with, and the genuine feel of everyone being one unit was such a beautiful thing to witness.

Choosing to have their wedding in Natalie’s parents’ home, the lower level of the home was transformed into a beautifully intimate, candlelit sanctuary for their vows. The warm, rustic charm was wonderful, and the entire ceremony was magical. Afterward, they broke into a dance party, which led upstairs to a single, family-style dining experience, where Justin + Natalie and written letters to each of their guests on their placards, thanking them for attending their intimate wedding. The entire wedding was one of true intimacy, and Justin + Natalie reveled in celebrating with their friends and family.

Finishing off the night with a bang, Justin + Natalie released fireworks, cheering and laughing with their family as they lit up the sky for their farewell. It was definitely a wonderful day from start to finish, and I believe one they will look back on with absolute joy. Congratulations, Justin + Natalie, and thank you so very much for allowing me to document your beautiful day for you!
