Jesse + Molly | Dayton Engagement Photographers

What do you get when you have two awesome human beings, game to drive all over Ohio to come do an engagement session in one of your favorite Dayton locations for engagement photography? You get some really amazing photos and a fantastic evening hanging with awesome people, that's what!

Jesse + Molly were a blast to hang out with on a crisp, almost-maybe-might-be-spring evening in Ohio. You see, this year has been crazy for weather, and we'd changed the date of their engagement session a few times to make sure we had the best weather for their engagement photos. But the wait was worth it, because when we connected, the light was perfect, the weather was great, and these two were amazing!

Jesse + Molly, thanks for making the trek to hang and wander with me. You two were fantastic, and I cannot wait for your wedding day!

And, huge thank you to the amazingly talented Josh Farr of Farr Better Photo for coming and hanging and creating with me that evening as well! It was an honor to get to shoot with you, and I look forward to the next opportunity to do it again!

Early spring is a beautiful time to get engagement photos taken. There is still that crispness keep you cuddling close, the sun is low and quite pretty and it is warm enough to not have to bundle up too much. Jesse and Molly were outstanding subjects for their engagement session with Studio 22 Photography in Dayton, Ohio.
Many people are shy in front of a photographer, especially for the first time. They clam up, or don’t know how to have an authentic smile (instead of the ‘cheese’ look we grew up with for aunt Mable). One of the things that Megan finds the most important when she works with her couples is to get to know them and have fun so that they relax. She also keeps them laughing with each other, because laughter creates the most genuine smiles in all photographs.
One of the great things about engagement sessions is getting to use various tricks and techniques to create images and play around with things that sometimes we don’t have time to on a wedding day. This Brenizer method photograph was so much fun to make with Jesse and Molly in Dayton at their spring engagement session.
Ohio is filled with beautiful locations for engagement photographs. Dayton itself is home to many stunning spots such as Eastwood Metro Park, Wegerzyn Garden and Oakes Quarry Park ready for outdoorsy photographic adventures with Studio 22 Photography!
Dusk is one of the best times of day to get outdoor engagement photos taken. The golden light preceding the sunset makes for a perfect backdrop. At times the sunset alone is still too dark to make you stand out amidst your landscape, so that is when Megan at Studio 22 Photography brings out her gear and places you in some beautiful lighting to make you the spotlight of the image.
Reflection shots are something that if done well can add a unique and beautiful image to your engagement photos. Megan of Studio 22 Photography loves to test our different tricks and techniques like this in order to give you a wide variety of images of you and your partner while she is out adventuring with you both.
When choosing outfits for an engagement or couples photography session it is always important to make sure that the outfits fit well together. This does not mean they have to match, but it means thinking of simple things like if one person has a pattern on, the other person wears a solid colour. This allows for you to stand out (in a good way) and also allows for a wider variety of shots and backgrounds to be used without fear of clashing. If you have questions about what to wear, Megan at Studio 22 Photography is more than happy to work with her couples to create the look that they desire for their images.
Eastwood Metropark has to be one of Megan Allen’s favourite places to shoot engagement and couple’s photographs in Dayton, Ohio. The wide range of backdrops (tall grasses, forests, and rivers) allow for a large variety of images to be created without having to get back in the car. This also gives Megan a chance to get to know her couples better, instead of just shuttling form location to location.
