Nick + Erica | Aston Oaks Golf Club | Cincinnati Wedding Photographers

There are few days as special as a wedding day in someone's life, and having the honor to document such a momentous occasion is something that will always be an honor, no matter how many times I have the opportunity to do so. Getting the chance to celebrate and capture Nick + Erica's wedding day at Aston Oaks Golf Club in Cincinnati was truly a blast for many reasons, with the fact that they (and their loved ones!) are genuinely some of the most incredibly kind, genuine hearted people I've had the chance to work with being only the tip of the iceberg!

Smiles were abundant everywhere on this gorgeous spring Saturday, and it was a true joy to get to capture the bustling preparation, the laughter, the nerves, happy tears, and the sheer joy throughout the day. Erica got ready at her parents' home, while Nick prepared at their home a few blocks away. Both groups were a blast to hang with, and you can tell how much their family and friends love and support them. From the heirlooms passed down, like Erica's beautiful pearl necklace that both her mother and grandmother wore on their wedding days, to the sentimental gifts like Nick's cufflinks that share Erica's love for Disney with her groom, everything had a place and a piece in making their own story come to life.

Throughout the day, I was constantly impressed with how truly excited these two were to be marrying one another. There was a quiet confidence, an assurance and excitement, that they were about to embark of the best of adventures together, and it was truly fantastic to get to capture that chemistry for them in their images. And, when the ceremony finished, they were officially Mr. & Mrs., and it came to the party...these folks know how to throw down! They danced the night away, and everyone had a fantastic time.

Nick + Erica, there aren't enough words for how much fun it was to capture your day for you. It's been a pleasure to get to know the two of you, and I wish you (and your cats! ha!) the best of adventures in the future. I look forward to seeing where life takes you!

Nick + Erica chose Aston Oaks Golf Club in Cincinnati, Ohio to be their wedding venue, and it was an absolutely gorgeous spring backdrop for their wedding day! Cincinnati has plenty of incredible wedding venues to choose from, but Aston Oaks has a plethora of beautiful spaces for wedding portraits, and their outdoor wedding ceremony area is top notch. With views that overlook the Ohio River, as well as stunning locations between greens, we had a blast wandering the gold course and creating beautiful wedding portraits for their Cincinnati wedding day.
Choosing to get ready in their Cincinnati home, Nick and his groomsmen nail down the perfect wedding day look for him. Getting ready photos are some of my favorites from the wedding day, because it provides a "behind the scenes" feel to day. Getting to know the main characters of the day and interacting with them as they prepare for the wedding day gives me an excellent peek into what to expect for the rest of the wedding day, and provides my wedding couples with thorough wedding day coverage.
Donning his vest for the big day, Nick takes time to attend to the details of the day. Cincinnati is a beautiful city, and choosing to get ready in his home was a wonderful, personal touch to his wedding day.
Bridal prep is such a fun time, and as a bride planning for her wedding day, one of the biggest pieces is who to choose as your makeup artist for the day! Always make sure your wedding makeup artist understands your skin type and tones you're hoping to achieve on your day, and have plenty of time to do a test run prior to your big day! Great makeup is crucial not only for the day of your wedding, but also for your photos being as good as possible. A great makeup artist is a huge asset to your wedding day!
Every bride needs great bridesmaids to help her get ready on her wedding day! Erica's bridesmaids helped her get ready for her Cincinnati wedding at Aston Oaks Golf Club, which included helping her see her feet to put on her shoes before we left her parents' home for Aston Oaks. Now those are some great friends to have beside you on your wedding day!
Putting on your wedding dress on your wedding day is one of the biggest moments of wedding prep, and having the people you love the most there to help is such a special wedding moment! Erica had her mother and bridesmaids there to help her, and it was such a wonderful moment to catch in her wedding photos.
First looks are always a beautiful part of a wedding day. Nick + Erica had a beautiful first look outdoors on a bridge at Aston Oaks Golf Club in Cincinnati, Ohio. First looks are helpful to shake some nerves off before the actual moment of truth in the wedding ceremony. Having a moment to talk to one another, share in the excitement, and just embrace one another on your wedding day before the wedding ceremony is a great way to make sure you really enjoy every part of your wedding day, as it truly is a day that will speed by so quickly. You want to be sure to enjoy each part, and having your spouse beside you as much as you can will make that more of a reality!

Cincinnati Wedding Reception
Wedding receptions are always a blast, and I thoroughly enjoy getting on the dance floor with all my couples, their friends, and family! This wedding party was an absolute blast to spend the day with, and when it came time to party, they threw down a Cincinnati party to remember! Being a wedding photographer in Cincinnati is always a blast, and this wedding reception was no different!
Nighttime wedding photos are some of my favorite wedding portraits to create, and it was a blast to get to create with Nick and Erica after the sun went down! One of my favorite times to create is during "blue hour," which is right after the sun sets, but the sky retains that beautiful blue hue for just a bit longer. It's the perfect time to go outside for some night time wedding portraits, and we took full advantage of Aston Oaks' beautiful scenery, even at nightfall!
