Patrick + Karlee's Fun Chicago Engagement Photos
Sometimes life hands you incredible connections to incredible people, who then introduce to you more incredible people, who then…well, you get the picture. And in the case of Patrick and Karlee, I couldn’t be more thankful for all the incredible people it took to connect us and make this PHENOMENAL Chicago engagement session come to life! Patrick and Karlee are easily two of the most fun, creative, vivacious people I’ve had the honor of photographing, and it’s immediately clear that they are over the moon about each other, and equally over the moon about their new adventures in making Chicago their home. So, when Karlee shared her vision for her engagement session with me, I said, “Say no more, let’s do this!”
You see, I “met” Karlee while she was working with Aladdin, through some wonderful friends you’ve seen before (remember Michael + Natalie’s fantastic shoot in LA? They’re friends!), and we had tried to connect for a session just for her, but schedules simply never aligned. Fast forward to almost a year later, and as I was packing to come visit Chicago to photograph a wedding, I received a message from Karlee on Instagram, asking when I’d be back in Chicago, because it was time for engagement photos! And, with roughly 36 hours to plan, we plotted out a fun Chicago engagement session that toured through Lincoln Park Zoo, Alfred Caldwell Lily Pond, and then into the city for a few fun shots in one of my favorite “spots,” complete with some tasty treats from BomboBar, a favorite place of mine to break my diet plans! Add in that she and Patrick SLAYED this session before Patrick had to head to the airport, and Karlee headed to her new gig at Hamilton: An American Musical, and you can see why these two are absolutely bursting at the seams busy, but also so much ridiculous fun to photograph — they adore one another, and they’re not afraid to show it!
Bottom line: you ALWAYS have time for a good time, and these two know how to have a GREAT time while capturing some ridiculously fun moments on camera! Congratulations, you two, and I’m so honored you asked me to photograph your engagement photos! I hope the wedding venue hunt went well, and I can’t wait to come back to the Windy City and go food spot hunting with you again! Cheers!
Holy cow Megan! These are incredible -love the emotion and story telling in each one! You are so talented and your couples are so lucky to have you as their photographer!
