Liz + Michael's Creative Chicago Engagement Photos
One of the happiest accidents of my career is being lucky enough to get to photograph Broadway actors. What began as a passion project evolved into some amazing friendships. And, as those friendships grew, so did my friends’ lives…and with that, came the opportunity to celebrate with them as they embarked on new adventures, like marriage! Such is the case with having the honor of meeting Michael + Liz. Connecting through mutual friends in the Hamilton family, they reached out and asked if I would like to be their wedding photographer — to which the response was a resounding YES! And, if I wasn’t already excited because I know the Hamilton family is all amazing, the floored me with just how incredible they are when we shot their Chicago engagement photos this winter.
We met at Michael’s friend’s incredible space, Revel Motor Row in Chicago for their engagement session. The sheer size and limitless opportunities in the space was amazing. Beautiful windows, dark walls, entire rooms of white; every room opened new doors of creativity. And, when you have two incredible dancers, you obviously want to capture them in their element. With all the space afforded to us, we did just that, as well as loads of other fantastic shots! What started as potentially an hour long session quickly became hours of play!
Creating for Liz + Michael was like being a kid in a candy shop. All the trust, fun, and creativity that flowed through the session made it a joy, and I can’t wait to see what their wedding holds in June. I know it’s going to be amazing!
