When I try to figure out how to begin a post about Michael + Natalie, words escape me. Not because there aren’t any, but simply because there aren’t enough superlatives to explain how truly amazing these two are, or how ridiculously adventurous they are, or how much FUN they are to hang with. These two are simply fantastic people, and having the opportunity to get to know them and create with them was one of the best experiences I’ve had.

After meeting and working with Michael in Chicago on some headshot and branding photos, and hearing him RAVE about this girlfriend, Natalie, who is an incredibly talented stylist for Ralph Lauren in New York City. I knew immediately we needed to plan to work out a time to do a shoot of the two of them together, and I told Michael to let me know if he ever wanted to make something like that happen. When he contacted me to ask if I’d like to connect with the two of them in LA, the answer was a resounding YES! I warned them that they would wave their white flag before me, and I gave them a load of different locations to choose from. So over the next few months, we plotted, chatted, and discussed a game plan — a broad, really optimistic game plan that left locals to the area doubting our ability to make it all happen in one day — to which we said, “Watch us.”

And not only did these two come to the day totally ready to slay, we managed to hit every spot we’d hoped to hit, and made some absolutely INCREDIBLE images in each location, both of them together as a couple, and individually for them as marketing and branding images for their social media pages. Was the day long? Incredibly. Were we ready for bed afterward? I’d say I’m safe in saying we all passed out hard and fast that night. But was it a blast to wander all over Los Angeles and the surrounding areas, see new places, eat great food, and have great conversations with incredible people? Abso-freaking-lutely. Would I do it again? Michael + Natalie, let me know when you’re ready, and I’ll be on a plane immediately.

Michael + Natalie, thank you SO much for being as crazy and down for anything as I am, and thank you for being such wonderful people. It’s been a joy to get to know the two of you, and I hope you love the images we created. I can’t wait to connect when you’re in Cincinnati, and I look forward to watching more of your adventures unfold in the future. Thanks for letting me capture a little bit of your lives together!

With such beauty as the Vasquez Rocks as a backdrop for a couples, wedding, or engagement session, you cannot go wrong! High on top of a rocky mountain, Michael embraces Natalie as they look toward the sunset. Intimate environmental portraits are always some of my favorites, as it feels like you see the couple being one with nature. The West Coast is always one of my favorite places to be a wedding and engagement photographer, and this time at the Vasquez Rocks did not disappoint!  Sony A7Riii | Sony 35mm f/1.4 @ f/1.4 | ISO 50 |  1/2500 sec | DVLOP presets: Jide Assumpção
