There’s something about wedding photography that always gets me excited. The day, the emotions, the realness of life happening as excitement swirls closer to “the moment” the couple says, “I do.” Every wedding I have the honor to photograph, I walk in with a healthy respect for the fact that it’s a one of a kind, one shot to capture it type of day. You’ve got to be on your game, because it’s the only chance to get it right.

Now multiply that feeling of  “gotta get it right,” by about a thousand, and you’ll know the feeling I had walking into Doug + Brooke’s amazing vow renewal at Remedies Parlor in Fort Meyers, Florida!

Brooke is one of my good friends, and when she asked me if I’d be willing to come down and photograph hers and Doug’s vow renewal, I was beyond honored. When she told me it was going to be decked to the hilt with amazing details, fantastic vendors, and have a “to death,” Edgar Allen Poe vibe, I about died, pun intended! Brooke has amazing style, and I knew she would create a stunning backdrop for her special day…and I knew I had to capture it perfectly!

From the moment I walked into Doug + Brooke’s room at the Indigo Hotel, I could feel their excitement. And, even though they’ve been married 10 years, there were excited nerves as well! It was so fun to have them get ready in the same room with their kids and our mutual friend, Anna, and just be a part of the process. Their fun loving, laid back nature made the day a blast to capture, and their trust in me allowed me to dive right into their lives and capture their essence, which I loved.

And, let’s discuss everything that went into this day becoming a reality. One of the things that happens after being a wedding photographer, is you start to know EXACTLY what you want in your own wedding, whether you’ve had one or not! And, connecting with some of the most amazing vendors in the Naples area through working with them, Brooke knew exactly who to call upon to create her vision for their vow renewal…and it was PERFECT!

Courtney from Cocoluna Events made the day run perfectly, and was a joy to meet. Tom from Tom Trovato Floral and Event Design created the most amazing set of floral designs I have ever seen, transforming Remedies Parlor into a wonderland dripping with Brooke’s style and vision. Delicious by Design made some amazing hors d’oeuvres, and, get this — they’re an outreach of St. Matthew’s House!

There are so, so many amazing aspects from this fantastic day that it’s hard to explain in words just how much fun it was to capture these moments for Doug + Brooke. So, instead of going on and on, scroll down to see for yourself how wonderful this day was! Doug + Brooke, thank you so much for allowing me to be able to capture your day for you. It was such a joy to share your joy, and I’m so thankful for your friendship. Here’s to 10 more years…and 10 after that!

Banyan Trees are a huge staple of Florida life, and Doug + Brooke wanted to be sure to incorporate them into their wedding photography. And, to take it one step further, we went for a Brenizer Method image to really show off the scenery surrounding them! Naples is such a beautiful area, and the unique wedding inspiration that Brooke gave to their wedding was such a fun vibe to work with.

I have seen a lot of wedding invitations, but Doug + Brooke

I love small businesses, and Doug + Brooke opted to choose beautifully handcrafted rings from small businesses for their 10 year vow renewal. Brooke
