Jacob + Gabby | Warrenwood Manor | Lexington Wedding Photographer
Crisp, autumn weather...rich, vibrant autumn tones...beautiful, historic farmhouse...if this sounds like the perfect backdrop for a wedding day, you'd absolutely be correct. Jacob + Gabby had one of the most beautiful, quintessentially Southern, charm-filled weddings you can imagine at Warrenwood Manor in Danville, Kentucky, and beyond the beauty, Jacob + Gabby are such a blast, and their family and friends are simply a joy to celebrate with!
This was the first time I'd seen Warrenwood Manor, and as I pulled up, I was taken aback at the beauty of the old farmhouse, the gorgeous colors of the trees in the perfect autumn setting, and all of the attention to detail that Gabby, her mother, and her family and friends had put into making her wedding day truly a magical, Southern wedding. The floral arrangements by Sherwood Florist held rich, vibrant reds and greens, perfect for the wedding aesthetic, and each detail was carefully placed and meticulously cared for. One of my favorite details was the pie bar, which held adorable, personal-sized pies for the guests, in all assorted flavors and options! Add in the coffee bar, and fantastic guest gifts of chocolates at each table setting, and you have yourself a wonderful, cozy feel for one heck of a party!
Being a Mary Kay Sales Director, Gabby was in fantastic hands as her maid of honor helped her get her makeup in perfect order, and the fun moments between her and her bridesmaids were such a joy to capture. Gabby's mother was such a wonderful woman, and you could feel the love and excitement she had for Gabby and Jake. Not to be forgotten, though, Jake had a wonderful set of groomsmen who were a blast to hang out with, and as they all helped him get ready, you could tell the camaraderie between them. Jake + Gabby exchanged notes and gifts, and seeing their responses to one another's notes, as they opted to not see one another before the ceremony, was touching.
Because they didn't see one another before the ceremony, I jokingly asked Gabby if Jake would cry when he saw her at the ceremony. And, as she predicted, while he remained stoic, I noticed a tear escape as he saw his bride for the first time. It was such a heartfelt moment, and the smile on Gabby's face as she met her groom, and her father officiated their ceremony was something I won't forget.
But as amazing as the ceremony was, the best was yet to come! Warrenwood Manor not only has a beautiful grounds for wedding ceremonies, but their barn was transformed into the most amazing wedding reception venue I've seen! The warm, intimate setting was wonderful, and the family-style served dinner was fun for everyone. But, as the dancing began, headed off by an utterly fantastic father-daughter first dance that set the tone for the rest of the night, it became a huge dance party! Everyone got in on the fun, and the shenanigans captured should entertain Jake, Gabby, and their guests for many years to come. And, really, any wedding that can incorporate Hamilton: An American Musical into it already wins in my book, and when Gabby and her girls broke out to Schuyler Sisters during the reception, I knew I had found my people!
Jake + Gabby, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your wedding day for you. It has been such an honor to get to know you and your families, and I hope you love the images. You had such an amazing start to your journey, and I look forward to seeing where life takes the two of you!
